The
goal of our riding program at the Rock Creek Park Horse
Center is to provide our students with the best methods
of riding, training and caring for their mounts.
All
new students, except complete beginners, must take
an evaluation lesson before starting classes.
Weight
limits may apply. If this is a concern, please
consult with our office before applying.
Our
riding lessons run on a term basis, with classes meeting
weekly. Terms vary in length from 8-12 weeks,
depending upon the season of the year. Classes
are organized according to age and riding ability,
and English balanced-seat instruction is offered at
all levels. Intermediate level classes include
some jumping and basic dressage. Limited western-style
classes are also available.
While
our students ride primarily in the ring, there may
be additional practice on trails at the discretion
of the instructor.
Please
